Key findings: P6242.1 - Retail trade sales, June 2024

Measured in real terms (constant 2019 prices), retail trade sales increased by 4,1% year-on-year in June 2024. The largest positive contributors to this increase were:

·         general dealers (7,3% and contributing 3,3 percentage points); and

·         retailers in textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods (6,1% and contributing 1,1 percentage points).

 

Seasonally adjusted retail trade sales increased by 1,6% in June 2024 compared with May 2024. This followed month-on-month changes of -0,2% in May 2024 and 0,5% in April 2024.

 

Retail trade sales increased by 2,0% in the second quarter of 2024 compared with the second quarter of 2023. The largest contributor to this increase was general dealers (3,2% and contributing 1,4 percentage points).

 

Seasonally adjusted retail trade sales increased by 1,5% in the second quarter of 2024 compared with the first quarter of 2024. The largest contributors to the increase were retailers in textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods (3,2% and contributing 0,6 of a percentage point) and general dealers (1,1% and contributing 0,5 of a percentage point).
