Retail trade sales increase in real terms

Retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices for February 2008 showed an increase of 2,5% compared with February 2007, after reporting a revised 0,7% growth for January 2008. Retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices, for the three months up to February 2008, showed an increase of 0,7% compared with the three months up to February 2007. This is substantially lower than the 8,0% increase between the three months up to February 2007 compared with the three months up to February 2006.

Retail trade sales at current prices, for the three months up to February 2008, increased by 11,3% compared with the three months up to February 2007. This is lower than the 13,6% increase for the corresponding period of 2007. Furthermore, retail trade sales at current prices, for February 2008, increased by 14,3% compared with February 2007.
