Retail trade sales for November remain virtually unchanged in real terms

Retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices remained virtually unchanged for November 2007 compared with November 2006.  Retail trade sales for November 2007 recorded an annual growth of only 0,2%, a record low for a period of over four years.

However, as indicated in table A, retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices, for the three months up to November 2007, showed an increase of 1,2% compared with the three months up to November 2006. Similarly, retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices, for the first eleven months of 2007, increased by 5,9% compared with the first eleven months of 2006. This is lower than the 10,0% growth for the first eleven months of 2006 compared with the corresponding eleven months of 2005.

Retail trade sales at current prices, for the three months up to November 2007, increased by 9,3% compared with the three months up to November 2006. Furthermore, retail trade sales at current prices, for November 2007, increased by 9,1% compared with November 2006.
