Retail trade sales show an increase in real terms

Retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices, for the third quarter of 2007, showed an increase of 4,6% compared with the third quarter of 2006. Similarly, retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices, for the first nine months of 2007, increased by 7,1% compared with the first nine months of 2006. This is lower than the 9,9% growth for the first nine months of 2006 compared with the corresponding nine months of 2005.

Retail trade sales at constant (2000) prices, for September 2007, showed an increase of 2,0% compared with September 2006.

Retail trade sales at current prices, for the third quarter of 2007, increased by 11,3% compared with the third quarter of 2006. Furthermore, retail trade sales at current prices, for September 2007, increased by 9,0% compared with September 2006. There are signs of the effect of the tightening monetary policy environment as the growth of 9,0% is the first single digit growth reported since July 2005.
