Sales at constant 2015 prices: results for October 2020

 

Measured in real terms (constant 2015 prices), wholesale trade sales decreased by 5,3% in October 2020 compared with October 2019.

 

Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 2,0% in October 2020 compared with September 2020. This followed month-on-month changes of 0,3% in September 2020 and -1,1% in August 2020.

 

In the three months ended October 2020, seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales increased by 8,1% compared with the previous three months.


Sales at current prices: results for October 2020

 

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), wholesale trade sales decreased by 4,6% in October 2020 compared with October 2019.

 

The main negative contributor was dealers in solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (-26,5% and contributing -6,1 percentage points).

 

The main positive contributor to the annual change in October was dealers in ‘other’ household goods except precious stones (20,4% and contributing 2,3 percentage points).

 

Wholesale trade sales decreased by 2,5% in the three months ended October 2020 compared with the three months ended October 2019. The main negative contributor was dealers in solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (-22,7% and contributing -5,4 percentage points).

 

The main positive contributor was dealers in ‘other’ household goods except precious stones (18,2% and contributing 2,1 percentage points).
