Sales at constant 2015 prices: results for March 2019

Measured in real terms (constant 2015 prices), wholesale trade sales decreased by 2,5% in March 2019 compared with March 2018.

Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales increased by 1,5% in March 2019 compared with February 2019. This followed month-on-month changes of 2,0% in February 2019 and 2,8% in January 2019.

In the first quarter of 2019, seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 1,3% compared with the previous quarter.

Sales at current prices: results for March 2019

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), wholesale trade sales increased by 4,2% in March 2019 compared with March 2018. The main contributors were dealers in:

  • solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (10,2% and contributing 2,3 percentage points); and
  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (21,6% and contributing 1,4 percentage points).

Wholesale trade sales increased by 4,4% in the first quarter of 2019 compared with the first quarter of 2018. The main contributor to this increase was dealers in solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (12,1% and contributing 2,7 percentage points).
