Sales at constant 2012 prices: results for November 2016

Measured in real terms (constant 2012 prices), wholesale trade sales increased by 2,0% in November 2016 compared with November 2015. Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 1,0% in November 2016 compared with October 2016. This followed month-on-month changes of -1,0% in October 2016 and 2,2% in September 2016.
 
In the three months ended November 2016, seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales increased by 0,4% compared with the previous three months.
 

Sales at current prices: results for November 2016

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), wholesale trade sales increased by 8,7% in November 2016 compared with November 2015. The main contributors to this increase were dealers in:

  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (29,0% and contributing 1,9 percentage points);
  • machinery, equipment and supplies (14,6% and contributing 1,9 percentage points); and
  • food, beverages and tobacco (11,5% and contributing 1,7 percentage points).

Wholesale trade sales increased by 7,9% in the three months ended November 2016 compared with the three months ended November 2015. The main contributors to this increase were dealers in:

  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (52,7% and contributing 2,9 percentage points);
  • food, beverages and tobacco (9,3% and contributing 1,4 percentage points); and
  • machinery, equipment and supplies (8,1% and contributing 1,1 percentage points).
