Sales at constant 2012 prices: results for October 2016

Measured in real terms (constant 2012 prices), wholesale trade sales decreased by 0,3% in October 2016 compared with October 2015. Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 1,1% in October 2016 compared with September 2016. This followed month-on-month changes of 2,4% in September 2016 and -1,5% in August 2016.
 
In the three months ended October 2016, seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 0,5% compared with the previous three months.
 

Sales at current prices: results for October 2016

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), wholesale trade sales increased by 4,6% in October 2016 compared with October 2015. The main contributors to this increase were dealers in:

  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (64,4% and contributing 3,0 percentage points); and
  • machinery, equipment and supplies (7,6% and contributing 1,0 percentage point).

Wholesale trade sales increased by 8,4% in the three months ended October 2016 compared with the three months ended October 2015. The main contributors to this increase were dealers in:

  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (70,8% and contributing 3,6 percentage points);
  • food, beverages and tobacco (10,2% and contributing 1,6 percentage points); and
  • construction and building materials (17,0% and contributing 1,1 percentage points).
