Sales at constant 2012 prices: results for September 2016

Measured in real terms (constant 2012 prices), wholesale trade sales increased by 3,4% in September 2016 compared with September 2015. Seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales increased by 2,3% in September 2016 compared with August 2016. This followed month-on-month changes of -1,6% in August 2016 and 0,6% in July 2016.
 
In the third quarter of 2016, seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales showed no growth compared with the previous quarter.
 

Sales at current prices: results for September 2016

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), wholesale trade sales increased by 9,6% in September 2016 compared with September 2015. The main contributors to this increase were dealers in:

  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (63,7% and contributing 3,4 percentage points); and
  • food, beverages and tobacco (14,5% and contributing 2,2 percentage points).

Wholesale trade sales increased by 8,6% in the third quarter of 2016 compared with the third quarter of 2015. The main contributors to this increase were dealers in:

  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (74,2% and contributing 3,9 percentage points);
  • food, beverages and tobacco (13,6% and contributing 2,0 percentage points); and
  • machinery, equipment and supplies (14,1% and contributing 1,9 percentage points).
