Wholesale trade sales in real terms

Measured in real terms (constant 2000 prices), seasonally adjusted wholesale trade sales decreased by 0,6% in November 2012 compared with October 2012. This followed month-on-month changes of 7,3% in October 2012 and -5,6% in September 2012.

Wholesale trade sales in real terms increased by 6,7% year-on-year in November 2012.


Wholesale trade sales in nominal terms

Measured in nominal terms (current prices), wholesale trade sales increased by 9,7% in the three months ended November 2012 compared with the three months ended November 2011. The major contributors to this increase were dealers in:

  • solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (16,5% and contributing 3,6 percentage points);
  • food, beverages and tobacco (13,1% and contributing 1,9 percentage points); and
  • agricultural raw materials and livestock (21,0% and contributing 1,2 percentage points).

Wholesale trade sales in nominal terms increased by 11,4% year-on-year in November 2012.
