Building statistics

The value of recorded building plans passed by the larger municipalities for 2012 amounted to R72 797,2 million. Residential building plans passed contributed the most to the total value of building plans passed (45,3%), followed by additions and alterations (30,9%) and non-residential buildings (23,8%).

The value of buildings reported as completed to larger municipalities for 2012 amounted to
R44 974,0 million. Residential buildings contributed 51,3% to the total value of buildings completed, non-residential buildings 26,1% and additions and alterations 22,6%.
