Building statistics

The value of recorded building plans passed by the larger municipalities for 2010 amounted to R62 600,8 million. Residential building plans passed contributed the most to the total value of building plans passed (42,6%), followed by additions and alterations (37,5%) and non-residential buildings (20,0%).

The value of buildings reported as completed to larger municipalities for 2010 amounted to
R43 843,9 million. Residential buildings contributed 47,9% to the total value of buildings completed, non-residential buildings 26,4% and additions and alterations 25,7%.
