Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, August 2024
The value of building plans passed (at current prices) decreased by 9,7% (-R6 880,4 million) during January to August 2024 compared with January to August 2023. Decreases were reported for residential buildings (-R4 290,4 million), additions and alterations (-R1 717,6 million) and non-residential buildings (-R872,4 million).
The value of buildings reported as completed (at current prices) decreased by 10,5% (-R3 793,0 million) during January to August 2024 compared with January to August 2023. Decreases were reported for residential buildings (-R3 212,1 million) and non-residential buildings (-R1 541,4 million). An increase was reported for additions and alterations (R960,5 million).
