Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, July 2017
The value of recorded building plans passed (at current prices) decreased by 5,2% (-R3 312,8 million) during January to July 2017 compared with January to July 2016. Non-residential buildings fell by 22,2% (-R3 886,4 million).
The value of buildings reported as completed (at current prices) increased by 15,4% (R5 219,9 million) during January to July 2017 compared with January to July 2016. The largest increase was recorded for residential buildings (18,6% or R3 396,1 million), followed by non-residential buildings (12,9% or R1 271,3 million) and additions and alterations (9,6% or R552,5 million).
