Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, January 2016
The real value of recorded building plans passed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 26,9% (R1 188,1 million) year-on-year in January 2016. Non-residential buildings rose by 403,7% (R1 899,8 million). There were large year-on-year increases in plans passed for shopping space in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng
The real value of buildings reported as completed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 3,3% (R82,8 million) year-on-year in January 2016.
