Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, August 2015
The real value of recorded building plans passed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 5,0% (R2 505,8 million) year-on-year during January to August 2015. Increases were recorded for residential buildings (7,1% or R1 680,1 million), additions and alterations (4,3% or R553,0 million) and non-residential buildings (2,1% or R272,7 million).
The real value of buildings reported as completed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 2,9% (R773,8 million) year-on-year during January to August 2015. Residential buildings rose by 12,7% (R1 789,2 million) and non-residential buildings fell by 12,1% (-R897,7 million).
