Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, July 2015
The real value of recorded building plans passed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 8,4% (R3 569,2 million) year-on-year during January to July 2015. Increases were recorded for residential buildings (10,8% or R2 159,4 million), additions and alterations (7,7% or R841,9 million) and non-residential buildings (4,9% or R567,9 million).
The real value of buildings reported as completed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 1,3% (R299,2 million) year-on-year during January to July 2015. Residential buildings rose by 12,3% (R1 496,8 million) and non-residential buildings fell by 18,5% (-R1 229,5 million).
