Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, May 2015

The real value of recorded building plans passed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 6,8% (R1 951,2 million) year-on-year during January to May 2015. Increases were recorded for residential buildings (11,4% or R1 569,8 million), additions and alterations (3,8% or R291,9 million) and non-residential buildings (1,2% or R89,5 million). The real value of buildings reported as completed (at constant 2010 prices) increased by 0,2% (R30,4 million) year-on-year during January to May 2015. Residential buildings rose by 13,2% (R1 117,2 million) while decreases were reported for non-residential buildings (-19,0% or -R852,7 million) and additions and alterations (-6,9% or R234,1 million).
