Key findings: P5041.1 - Selected building statistics of the private sector as reported by local government institutions, January 2015

The real value of recorded building plans passed (at constant 2010 prices) decreased by 11,0% (-R553,9 million) year-on-year in January 2015. This was largely the result of a decline in non-residential buildings (-58,1% or  R640,1 million).

The real value of buildings reported as completed (at constant 2010 prices) decreased by 18,8% (-R583,8 million) year-on-year in January 2015. Decreases were reported for additions and alterations (-38,6% or -R260,0 million), non-residential buildings (-22,1% or -R187,3 million) and residential buildings (-8,7% or -R136,5 million).
