Key findings: P4141 - Electricity generated and available for distribution, December 2021

Electricity generation (production) decreased by 3,7% year-on-year in December 2021. Total electricity generation was 2,1% higher in 2021 compared with 2020. The 2,1% increase in annual electricity production followed a decrease of 5,3% in 2020 and a decrease of 1,5% in 2019.Seasonally adjusted electricity generation increased by 1,4% in December 2021 compared with November 2021. This followed month-on-month changes of -0,5% in November 2021 and -3,8% in October 2021. Seasonally adjusted electricity generation decreased by 4,1% in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared with the third quarter of 2021.

Electricity distribution (consumption) decreased by 2,7% year-on-year in December 2021. Total electricity distribution was 2,3% higher in 2021 compared with 2020. The 2,3% increase in annual electricity distribution followed a decrease of 5,0% in 2020 and a decrease of 1,9% in 2019.Seasonally adjusted electricity distribution increased by 1,6% month-on-month in December 2021, following month-on-month changes of 0,5% in November 2021 and -4,1% in October 2021. Seasonally adjusted electricity distribution decreased by 3,7% in the fourth quarter of 2021 compared with the third quarter of 2021.
