Key findings: P4141 - Electricity generated and available for distribution, October 2008

The estimated consumption of electricity in October 2008 decreased by 1,4% (-292 Gigawatt-hours) compared with October 2007. Electricity consumed for the three months ending October 2008 also decreased by 1,4% (-876 Gigawatt-hours) compared with the same three months of 2007. However, electricity consumption after seasonal adjustment for the latest three months ending October 2008 increased by 0,5% compared with the previous three months ending July 2008.

The estimated production of electricity in October 2008 slightly increased by 0,3% (58 Gigawatt-hours) compared with October 2007. The estimated production of electricity, after seasonal adjustment, remained stable for October 2008 compared with September 2008 but increased by 0,6% for the latest three months ending October 2008 compared with previous three months ending July 2008. However, the estimated production of electricity during the last three months ending October 2008 decreased by 1,3% (-846 Gigawatt-hours) compared with the same period of 2007.
