Key findings: P4141 - Electricity generated and available for distribution, June 2005

This monthly survey reflects that the volume of electricity consumed for the second quarter of 2005, after seasonal adjustment, remained virtually unchanged as compared to the first quarter of 2005. However, the estimated volume of electricity consumed for June 2005 decreased by 1,9% compared with June 2004.

The estimated production of electricity for the second quarter of 2005, after seasonal adjustment, decreased by 1,1% compared with the first quarter of 2005. Production of electricity during June 2005 was hampered by a shortage of raw materials but was, to some extent, counteracted by the high imports of electricity from outside South Africa.
