IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

The utilisation of production capacity by large manufacturers was 77,5% in May 2023 compared with 77,1% in May 2022, an increase of 0,4 of a percentage point.

Three of the ten manufacturing divisions showed increases in utilisation of production capacity in May 2023 compared with May 2022. Increases were recorded in the following divisions:

• motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (7,1 percentage points);
• food and beverages (0,9 of a percentage point); and
• furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing (0,5 of a percentage point).

The following divisions recorded rates of utilisation of production capacity above 80% in May 2023:

• food and beverages (82,1%);
• furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing (81,3%); and
• motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (80,3%).
