Production: results for July 2024

 

Manufacturing production increased by 1,7% in July 2024 compared with July 2023. The largest positive contributions were made by the following divisions:

·        food and beverages (9,5% and contributing 2,0 percentage points); and

·        basic iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery (5,2% and contributing 1,1 percentage points).

 

The largest negative contribution was made by the motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment division (-12,1% and contributing -1,3 percentage points).

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production increased by 2,1% in July 2024 compared with June 2024. This followed month-on-month changes of -0,4% in June 2024 and -3,3% in May 2024.

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production decreased by 0,5% in the three months ended July 2024 compared with the previous three months. Seven of the ten manufacturing divisions reported negative growth rates over this period. The largest negative contribution was reported for the food and beverages division (-1,1% and contributing -0,3 of a percentage point).

 

 

Sales: results for July 2024

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing sales increased by 1,6% in July 2024 compared with June 2024. This followed month-on-month changes of 0,2% in June 2024 and -2,7% in May 2024.

 

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing sales decreased by 0,2% in the three months ended July 2024 compared with the previous three months. The largest negative contributions were made by the following divisions:

·        motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (-2,5% and contributing -0,4 of a percentage point); and

·        food and beverages (-1,6% and contributing -0,4 of a percentage point).

 

The largest positive contribution was made by the basic iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery division (1,7% and contributing 0,4 of a percentage point).
