Key findings: P3041.2 - Manufacturing: Production and sales, February 2018

Manufacturing production increased by 0,6% in February 2018 compared with February 2017. The largest contributions were made by the following divisions:

  • food and beverages (4,3% and contributing 1,0 percentage point);
  • glass and non-metallic mineral products (12,9% and contributing 0,4 of a percentage point);
  • motor vehicles, parts and accessories and other transport equipment (5,5% and contributing 0,4 of a percentage point);
  • petroleum, chemical products, rubber and plastic products (-2,8% and contributing -0,7 of a percentage point); and wood and wood products, paper, publishing and printing (-3,1% and contributing -0,4 of a percentage point).

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production decreased by 2,4% in February 2018 compared with January 2018. This followed month-on-month changes of -1,6% in January 2018 and 1,0% in December 2017.

Seasonally adjusted manufacturing production increased by 0,2% in the three months ended February 2018 compared with the previous three months. Six of the ten manufacturing divisions reported positive growth rates over this period.
