Key findings: P3041.2 - Manufacturing: Production and sales, January 2008
The estimated seasonally adjusted manufacturing production for the three months ended January 2008 increased by 0,7% compared with the previous three months. This is lower than the 2,4% increase reported for the previous three-month period up to December 2007. Higher production levels were reported by five of the ten manufacturing divisions.
The estimated total value of sales of manufactured products at current prices for the three months ended January 2008 increased by 3,7% (R10 507 million), after seasonal adjustment, compared with the previous three months. Higher manufacturing sales were reported by eight of the ten manufacturing divisions during this period.
