- The total income for the manufacturing industry in 2008 was R1 668 788 million.
- The division generating the most income in the manufacturing industry was coke, petroleum, chemical products and rubber and plastic
(R486 795 million). - The total expenditure for the manufacturing industry in 2008 was R1 572 069 million.
- The value added in the manufacturing industry in 2008 was R397 915 million.
- The total number of persons employed in the manufacturing industry at end June 2008 was 1 278 394.
