- The total income for the manufacturing industry in 2008 was R1 508 667 million.
- The division generating the most income in the manufacturing industry was coke, petroleum, chemical products and rubber and plastic (R427 934 million).
- The total expenditure for the manufacturing industry in 2008 was R1 391 811 million.
- The value added in the manufacturing industry in 2008 was R303 615 million.
- The total number of persons employed in the manufacturing industry at end June 2008 was 1 353 152.
