Key findings: P1101.1 - Large scale agriculture survey, 2006

The agricultural sector continues to be a significant provider of employment and gross farming income for 2006 was R49 704, 8 million, this according to the 2006 Survey of Large Scale Agriculture. The survey further found that the total farming debt for the year ended 28 February 2006 stood at R19 618, 2 million and Mpumalanga showed the highest total value of losses during the survey period, (R119, 6 million).
