IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In November 2019, 3 504 412 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 909 878 South African residents and 2 594 534 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 336 068 were made up of 83 037 non-visitors and 1 253 031 visitors. The visitors consisted of 402 494 same-day visitors and 850 537 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 247 136 from overseas; 587 324 from the SADC countries; 14 331 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 746 tourists was classified as unspecified.
