IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In June 2019, 3 355 904 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 1 080 305 South African residents and 2 275 599 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 163 574 were made up of 79 712 non-visitors and 1 083 862 visitors. The visitors consisted of 349 308 same-day visitors and 734 554 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 154 361 from overseas; 565 561 from the SADC countries; 13 222 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 410 tourists was classified as unspecified.
