IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In July 2019, 3 323 714 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 958 108 South African residents and 2 365 606 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 238 165 were made up of 90 335 non-visitors and 1 147 830 visitors. The visitors consisted of 357 643 same-day visitors and 790 187 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 192 277 from overseas; 583 584 from the SADC countries; 13 230 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 096 tourists was classified as unspecified.
