IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In November 2022, 2 092 882 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 566 031 South African residents and 1 526 851 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 818 002 were made up of 75 764 non-visitors and 742 238 visitors. The visitors consisted of 176 480 same-day visitors and 565 758 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 159 771 from overseas; 394 650 from the SADC countries;10 240 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 097 tourists was classified as unspecified.
