IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In January 2024, 3 033 431 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They comprised 871 032 South African residents and 2 162 399 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 253 216 comprised 36 621 non-visitors and 1 216 595 visitors. The visitors consisted of 244 749 same-day visitors and 971 846 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows 195 423 from overseas; 764 702 from SADC countries; 10 949 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 772 tourists were classified as unspecified.
