IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In December 2023, 3 478 783 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They comprised 1 094 176 South African residents and 2 384 607 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 183 035 comprised 22 990 non-visitors and 1 160 045 visitors. The visitors consisted of 297 585 same-day visitors and 862 460 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 205 684 from overseas; 639 816 from SADC countries; 15 951 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 009 tourists were classified as unspecified.
