IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In October 2023, 2 648 392 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 764 296 South African residents and 1 884 096 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 1 000 642 were made up of 30 871 non-visitors and 969 591 visitors. The visitors consisted of 238 483 same-day visitors and 731 108 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 189 778 from overseas; 527 616 from SADC countries; 12 495 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 219 tourists was classified as unspecified.
