IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In September 2023, 2 563 410 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 766 769 South African residents and 1 796 641 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 943 387 were made up of 25 240 non-visitors and 918 147 visitors. The visitors consisted of 233 986 same-day visitors and 684 161 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 158 407 from overseas; 514 268 from SADC countries; 10 415 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 071 tourists was classified as unspecified.
