IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In July 2023, 2 551 329 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 764 558 South African residents and 1 786 771 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 957 501 were made up of 29 331 non-visitors and 928 170 visitors. The visitors consisted of 236 102 same-day visitors and 692 068 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 161 376 from overseas; 519 422 from the SADC countries; 10 290 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 980 tourists was classified as unspecified.
