IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In February 2023, 2 106 923 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 551 698 South African residents and 1 555 225 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 824 868 were made up of 25 786 non-visitors and 799 082 visitors. The visitors consisted of 185 650 same-day visitors and 613 432 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 192 835 from overseas; 408 631 from the SADC countries; 10 945 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 021 tourists was classified as unspecified.
