IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In September 2022, 2 155 408 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 663 430 South African residents and 1 491 978 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 792 934 were made up of 63 655 non-visitors and 729 279 visitors. The visitors consisted of 190 077 same-day visitors and 539 202 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 126 409 from overseas; 402 457 from the SADC countries; 9 267 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 1 069 tourists was classified as unspecified.
