IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In April 2022, 1 696 851 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa's ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 601 496 South African residents and 1 095 355 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 568 484 were made up of 47 013 non-visitors and 521 471 visitors. The visitors consisted of 90 095 same-day visitors and 431 376 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 119 518 from overseas; 304 123 from the SADC countries; 6 964 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 771 tourists was classified as unspecified.
