IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In March 2022, 1 410 465 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 503 469 South African residents and 906 996 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 468 636 were made up of 43 403 non-visitors and 425 233 visitors. The visitors consisted of 65 499 same-day visitors and 359 734 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 108 974 from overseas; 242 869 from the SADC countries; 7 244 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 647 tourists was classified as unspecified.
