IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In February 2022, 1 105 685 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 359 686 South African residents and 745 999 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 398 619 were made up of 35 918 non-visitors and 362 701 visitors. The visitors consisted of 52 528 same-day visitors and 310 173 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 93 899 from overseas; 209 412 from the SADC countries; 6 348 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 514 tourists was classified as unspecified.
