IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In November 2021, 1 053 311 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 337 706 South African residents and 715 605 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 371 649 were made up of 43 959 non-visitors and 327 690 visitors. The visitors consisted of 52 043 same-day visitors and 275 647 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 73 679 from overseas; 193 232 from the SADC countries; 8 075 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 661 tourists was classified as unspecified.
