Key findings: P0351 - Tourism and Migration, September 2021

In September 2021, 857 448 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 298 109 South African residents and 559 339 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 291 042 were made up of 43 462 non-visitors and 247 580 visitors. The visitors consisted of 41 632 same-day visitors and 205 948 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 34 895 from overseas; 166 315 from the SADC countries; 4 315 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 423 tourists was classified as unspecified.
