Key findings: P0351 - Tourism and Migration, August 2021
In August 2021, 770 617 travellers (arrivals, departures, and
transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up
of 260 662 South African residents and 509 955 foreign travellers. Foreign
arrivals, 268 946 were made up of 45 917 non-visitors and 223 029
visitors. The visitors consisted of 37 392 same-day visitors and 185 637
overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as
follows: 28 157 from overseas; 153 519 from the SADC countries; 3 618
from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 343 tourists was
classified as unspecified.
