IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In March 2021, 635 758 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 214 865 South African residents and 420 893 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 223 135 were made up of 38 265 non-visitors and 184 870 visitors. The visitors consisted of 27 232 same-day visitors and 157 638 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 17 548 from overseas; 136 506 from the SADC countries; 3 288 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 296 tourists was classified as unspecified.
