IMPROVING LIVES THROUGH DATA ECOSYSTEMS

In November 2020, 470 701 travellers (arrivals, departures, and transits) passed through South Africa’s ports of entry/exit. They were made up of 178 632 South African residents and 292 069 foreign travellers. Foreign arrivals, 152 694 were made up of 33 833 non-visitors and 118 861 visitors. The visitors consisted of 17 765 same-day visitors and 101 096 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 15 520 from overseas; 82 390 from the SADC countries; 2 937 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 249 tourists was classified as unspecified.
