In December 2015, there were 1 547 900 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 105 062 non-visitors and 1 442 838 visitors. The visitors consisted of 550 118 same-day visitors and 892 720 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 234 523 from overseas; 642 721 from the SADC countries; 14 566 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 910 tourists was classified as unspecified.
