In August 2015, there were 1 219 410 foreign arrivals to South Africa. The arrivals were made up of 97 541 non-visitors and 1 121 869 visitors. The visitors consisted of 390 621 same-day visitors and 731 248 overnight visitors (tourists). The breakdown of the tourists by region is as follows: 165 990 from overseas; 548 949 from the SADC countries; 15 323 from 'other' African countries and the country of residence of 986 tourists was classified as unspecified.
